This is a song I added instrument parts to and mixed and mastered for a talented christian rock singer named Paulette Lainez. I was having a really hard time taming a harsh high frequency without making the mix sound dark. Time was a factor so I put a master on it but if I can revisit this and make it better I will. Any tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a lot of the songs elements are hi-passed pretty high. Might wanna try opening up those filters a little.
Really nice song and it’s a good mix. It sounds like it’s been recorded well. The vocals are nicely balanced.
The bass and kick do sound nice and rich. The drums sound present, and there’s some body to the snare. Every other track in the mix is super crispy and present though. The strings, vocals and guitars are all top end heavy.
It might be an idea to focus on a slightly different EQ band on each of those tracks. I think the guitars could do with some more in the way of midrange (as has been mentioned). And the strings, hi-hats, vocals etc. more varied over how they’re EQd to stop them from fighting with each other. Have you used a lot of high shelf boosts? If so maybe try boosting certain bands instead. The vocals and cymbals sound particularly harsh at points.

Sounds like the kick and bass might be competing a little bit. The mix as a whole seems to be lacking some mid-range and heavy on the high end. I love the song and arrangement though
