Mix Description

We think that, while not classic country, it might fit into one of the new country guy’s repertoire. It’s very simple with a very ear-wormy chorus. We are hoping to get this piece to somebody who might like to sandwich it into an album. Hopefully we could make a couple of bucks to keep going.

Zakk's Mix Feedback

It’s sounding good! Seems like there might be just a little too much high end “air” boosting for my ears. Nothing major though.

Also, the drums are getting masked a little when everything is playing. However, if this is just a demo and meant to be recorded by another artist then I think it does its job well.

    • Chainsaw here: Thanks for the listen. We are definitely going for a country/poppy sound that has nothing to do with trucks, guns, flags or girls with painted on jeans. Selling it to somebody looking for material is certainly a goal as is most of the stuff I write and that we record here. We’re not really sure how to get my material to what used to be A&R people. When was the last time you heard a dance tune anywhere?

Wiley here: I’m interested in what “air” is. Can you explain it or give an example? Plus, it seems like if the drums are any louder…maybe I need to add some HPFs on the guitars so the kick and bass sit by themselves in the mix better. Thanks for the input.
