Hi! I’m back with a new mix of previous (5th) song, finally with a name and some new features like bird noises and drum fill. I’ve completely changed the kick and the drummer recorded few kicks without clipping this time, so I replaced them. The snare is also a bit different and so are the guitars.

Still unnamed, but it’s our 5th song. What do you think about it?
Guitars: emg pickups, Fender champion 40 amp, Shure sm57 mic, behringer u-phoria UMC22 interface
Bass: Ibanez srmd200, Fender rumble 100 amp, the same mic and interface
Drums: Some pearl drums with Zildjian cymbals ? the mics were audiotechnica Mb-DK5 into behringer xenyx x2222usb interface
All mixing done in reaper.
I’m pretty new to mixing and I think it’s my 3rd decent sounding mix, so your review would be really helpful!
what did u used for the intro clean tone ?
I just used normal clean tone and just on very big volume that it starts to overdrive but not too much. My amp is Fender champion 40 and guitar is epiphoneeexplorer with emgs.
Love the clean tone in the beginning. Very ominous vibe. Drums are lacking some serious punch. Rhythm guitars sound tinny. That snare sounds like the st. anger snare.
Hey! Thanks for help! Thanks for appreciating the clean tone! I really hope my future drums will be much better cause those base records were really bad and clipped. Actually i can’t agree with the snare, there’s nothing metallic and long sounding in it.
(maybe the hihat is a bit too loud and changes its sound?) I’d say it’s a worse master of puppets snare sound 😉 . Anyways big thanks for help again!
Cool I think this one is better! I think the snare could still use more pop. Maybe experiment in the 750-1200kHz range. Also maybe look in the 150-200Hz for the snares low end to see if you can beef it up.
For the kick and bass there is some low end that’s building up and causing some woofiness. Might want to try high passing some of the bass guitar and maybe notching out a spot for the kick’s low end to sit.
