The Frozen Heads- Couldn’t Look Away

This one was fun… Was inspired by the drum sound on those old Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins albums (in particular, the intruder drum sound… whoooooh… gated reverbs.) So, I had our drummer bang out some patterns in the rehearsal space, took them home and looped a pattern, while our bassist came up with a cool lick on the fretless bass, me and the other guitarist then concocted a wall of guitar noise, then lyrics…. the tune actually came out closer to 80’s industrial or post punk, which makes sense given my love for bands like Skinny Puppy and the Birthday Party… That said, I mixed this track in about two hours, and it was a relatively painless process….
