In this mix i used David Gnozzi(MixBusTV) Full analog console and tape emulation template to try and will make sense and will my laptop make it. On every channel i used Kramer tape(i know its master but why not?) and ssl channel strip, on every buss (Drums, Keys, etc) i used small amount of compression and eq on master channel J37 tape machine emulation, SSL BUS COMP and NLS BUSS
Plenty of great jazz albums were done with very few mikes. Two over heads for the drums, one for the kick and one for the snare is plenty. A room omni and mikes for the bass and guitar – 7 tracks. Plenty. Good job though.
Nice production! Song is warm with great tones. This my be a matter of just taste, but the instrumentation of the guitars, bass, and keys have a really nice ‘studio’ sound if you will, but the drums have a more live, less polished sound, in particular the snare. Again maybe just a taste thing. Also, consider widening and panning a bit on the instruments….everything seemed up the middle. The performance was really nice tho…..silky smooth and tight with each other. Nice job!!
Thank you for response! It was my very first project in this genre usually i am working in hip hop. I decided to go out of box and i experimented with template. And i very appreciate for advice.
Yeah I agree. I’d experiment a little bit with panning. But the mix sounds nice a chill. I’m surprised your computer didn’t explode putting all those plugins on lol 😉
This was small project only 11 tracks so my macbook manage easy, now i am working on rock project with 40 tracks thanks that logic have freeze mode 🙂 I will soon load it just need to fix vocals because this project is pretty challenging with vocals, bad performance + in recording pops( no windshield) clicks etc.
Yeah. No pop filter is no fun 🙁
Good sound und jazz vibe! Only drums without panning.
