Did you multi track the drums or were they recorded with just 1 or 2 mics?
Drums are 11 tracks total…
Gotcha. Do you have a reference mix that you were going for with this song?
Nope. Actually on the drums, the artist just said they wanted the ‘kick to slam’ and be able to hear the cowbell… That’s what we were going for… Oh and he always thought the high hat was too hot (mostly because of mic bleed)…
I understand. Gotta give the artist what they want 😉 I think overall the track was a little dark. I wouldn’t liked to have more high end to brighten and crispen things up. But that’s just me
