Good mix. Although, I think the spatial cues feel a little off to me. The drums are back in the mix, other instruments left and right but the piano is spread wide and feels up close. This gives the feeling as if I’m sitting at the piano, rather than listening to whole group.
Sounds really good. Those cymbals sound a little too crispy for my taste though.
Still, nice work.
First of all, I know very little about jazz mixing so take everything I say with a grain of salt lol. But the mix sounds pretty good to me. The only thing that popped out to me was a tiny bit of harshness on the drums. Do you have an exciter on them?
It is the Room mics that are causing that and the mic on the Upright bass is stepping all over the drum mid-range. I accented the drum highs to get them to cut. I could probably bring the highs down a bit on the toms. Thanks
