An acoustic folk/pop track. I recorded the guitar and vocals in Logic, the other instruments are all software. I used 2 small diaphragm condensers on either side of the guitar to get a stereo image and panned them left and right. There is a backing vocal and piano chords in the chorus, but otherwise it’s just guitar, bass, percussion.
Love it. Great job. Do you have a high end boost over the whole mix? It’s feeling like the mix has just a little too much air, making it sound manufactured. I also agree with the comment about EQing the delay bus… maybe EQing the high end out of the reverb bus too.
Keep up the good work!
Yes, I actually have Gullfoss on there. You may well be right, might need to tone it down. Good spot, thanks.
Maybe more vocal, I think
Love it. Maybe an eq to knock the highs off the vocal delay.
Thanks I’ll take a look at that. The other thing I’m wondering about is the overall dynamics. Would it benefit from a bit more contrast between sections by reducing the levels in the intro and verse a little. Although I guess that could make the start sound a bit weedy.
