Over the past year, whenever I picked up my guitar, I often thought of my father who passed away. I kept all my ideas on my phone. Over the Holiday break, I decided to record all melodies with the goal of creating a song that features many different movements. This is a long listen clocking in at 8 minutes or so.

Love the music. Great job. I feel like the kick is getting lost. Especially around the 3:04 part. It gets a little more present later on in the song. I also feel like the bass guitar is pretty loud compared to everything else.

I agree….this song was tracked and mixed in different sessions and then each stereo mix assembled in another session. Not that this is an excuse but, I need to find a way to ensure each section flows with all instrumentation balanced through each section. I suppose a really talented mastering engineer could manage this…?? Makes me wonder how Rush accomplished the 2112 CD. I appreciate your kind words and suggestions.
Not sure about the mastering engineer. I’ve fixed the bottom end of kicks for mastering clients, but usually if you try to bring up the top end, you’ll boost a bunch of other unwanted instruments with it.
