Hi and thanks in advanced. Not sure for genre though, I would really need some advice if possible. This is home recorded, except we are waiting to record again the vocals in a better recording studio and better equipment. Flamenco guitars that i recorded, where very difficult for me to mix and to find some sort of balance, beacuse of so many unconfortable resonances and harmonics in the guitars speccialy in the higher mids. Recorded with a AKG C414 in omni position (parrots were screaming on the backround. Im using Genelec 8030 and Focal Listen headphones. Im having difficulties with sub bass and bass levels the most, at least for what i can hear. Theres possibly so many more problems in the mix or balance that i cant listen or dont know how to, im mostly at my limits right now.
Thanks guys, i appreciate a lot for your feedback.
Love the vocals! I think the only issue I notice is the clickyness of the guitar. You might need to shelf down some of that high end around 6-8k Hz
thanks for your time and ears, any advice is very usefull for me!! yes i think i might have to manually lower some dynamics from the guitar riff also to work it better as a whole, and/or try to lower that hi end maybe with a multiband compressor or just eq?
No problem! I’d start with the EQ. Then if it really needs it you can use the multiband
?? I think your suggestion made a substancial change in the song, i also cleaned up some squeeks from the guitars, i will re post the mix in near future maybe you can check it out again!
Awesome! Happy to help.
Yep, if you post it on this site there’s a really good chance I’ll hear it. I think I’ve listened to every mix so far. Don’t want to break the streak 😉
