Downloaded tracks from Cambridge website. 8 tracks, kick, snare, overheads, Bass, Guitar, percussion, lead vox. Live recording in a studio or room setting. Had 1 guitar to work with so I tried to find a way to make it stereo. Very grunge style of
song. Comments always appreciated. *all rights to the artist
Fun song. Has a cool 60s vibe during the verses. I would suggest using less distortion on the chorus guitar. I have found, over the years, less distortion yields a bigger sound in the mix. Or, try using a simple Tele through high gain settings. The bridge single coil will give you much needed clarity. I enjoyed this track!
I think the kick and the bass are clashing a bit, and that’s why they give the impression of more bass – I don’t think it’s that much bass, I think it’s just a bit muddy. You could emphasize the guitar more in the chorus, with volume automation maybe, so it hits you in the chest hehe for some impact. Good work nevertheless!
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!
Sounds good. Def agree that the drums are a bit loud in the chorus.
Nice work! I think the low end is pretty heavy. Might want to dial that back a few dB. Also, on the choruses I’d love to hear a little more guitar and a little less drums 😉
