This was fully tracked and mixed in my little 10×10 bedroom studio on a Presonus 1824 interface, Studio One stock plugins, and Kali LP6 monitors. I’m pretty new to the game. I’ve been doing the home recording thing for almost a year now. This is one of my first clients and his band. They’re kind of an outlaw country band. Thanks for listening! Lead vocal is a little far back. That acoustic guitar sounds amazing
Yep sounds really good but I agree with zakkleifeste the vocal needs to come us a little
First of all, if you’ve only been doing it that long, this is amazing work. This is 10,000 times better than my first recordings lol. For the mix I think the vocal is a little too low and the acoustic guitar is a little hot. Also I think the kick could use a little hi end to boost to get more of the slap in there. Right now it’s just the pillowy bottom end that’s coming through.
Thanks for the compliment and feedback, man! I really appreciate it. I tend to struggle getting a good kick sound so I’m definitely gonna try boosting that high end. I’d never considered it.
Yeah try messing with everything above 4kHz on the kick and see what it does to the sound.
