Mix Description

This was recorded in my living room with any acoustic treatment or anything. Is one of my songs and was made and produced during the first days of quarantine. It’s called “Paradoja” (I’m Hispanic therefore, lyrics are in Spanish)

Mix Feedback from others:

  • Hello, this is a cool song! Can’t understand a single word, but the Spanish language is beautiful!!!
As previous comments, need to work on volumes of parts. Start with drums and bass, then add from there. (The bass is lost quickly when everything kicks in.) I like the transition to the chorus. But its really cluttered. Not sure what’s in there instrumentally. Sometimes less is more….??? Add things that are important and leave other stuff out or dial back volume…. And of course these are taste / opinion things, but I agree with other comments about taking the fuzz out of the guitars….if that’s possible.
I like where the song is going and a couple really cool parts. I use an open back set of earphones (AKG 702) to mix with….and they work well for setting up the volumes. Hope this helps and doesn’t come across negatively. Look forward to a remix version!!

  • At 1:20 there’s some volume issues on the guitars. Also the vocal is sitting a little too far above the mix on the chorus. I’d try beefing up the electric guitars a little bit and maybe rolling off some of the hi end. Right now they are a little too crunchy sounding.

  • A little more time working on the general volumes of the individual tracks and you’ll have something here. It gets a little busy when the B. part comes in and again when it comes in again later but you’ll sort it out I sure. Good job.
