This was recorded in a bedroom. I thought the kick was coming out a bit heavy and boomy, but after a few translation checks (car, phone, bluetooth speaker) it was sounding the same. I also like the story of the song and how the arrangement sets the tone of being immersed in what this artist describes as a low point in his life. This record is entitled “Broke”. Sounds good! I think there’s a little too much “air” being added to the vocal. It’s creating a pretty consistent hiss across the track. If you’re doing a shelf EQ on the vocal it might be bringing up too much other frequencies with it.
Nice flow! Vocals sitting on top of beat. Need a little reverb. I suggest turn vocals down or bring beat up if room to turn it up
